KENNESAW, Ga.International company Deerland Enzymes recently released Dairylytic and Glutalytic to help with food intolerances.

Made of lactose and a protease enzyme blend, Dairylytic is a dual-functioning enzyme supplement created for protein degradation. The supplement helps break down the lactose associated with intolerance and proteins in dairy for digestion and absorption.

"Many people who experience digestive discomfort from consuming dairy products assume they are lactose intolerant, but still do not find relief using traditional lactase enzyme supplements," said John Deaton, vice president of technology at Deerland Enzymes. "Their discomfort may actually be attributed to an immune response from the protein components of dairy, not intolerance to the lactose."

Glutaytic is a proteolytic enzyme blend offering degradation of the gluten proteins that cause immune responses.

"The fastest way to break down gluten is to cleave peptide bonds internally and externally," Deaton added. "Glutalytic contains both endopeptidases and exopeptidases to create the correct endopeptidase cleavage pattern near the long-chain amino acids that need to be hydrolyzed by the exopeptidase, producing rapid degradation of gluten."

Last June 2012, Deerland Enzymes hosted congressman Phil Gingrey for a tour of its GMP (good manufacturing practice)-certified facility. Gingrey met with the company's executives to discuss their concerns over the current tax policy as well as FDA's NDI Draft Guidance for Industry.
