Dry Pet Food Recalled in 10 States Over Salmonella

WASHINGTONDiamond Pet Foods is recalling Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul Adult Light formula dry dog food in 10 states because the pet food may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced today.

The recall involves 6-pound bags of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul Adult Light Formula dry dog food with production code CLF0102B3XALW  and a best buy date of Jan. 28, 2013; and 35-pound bags of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul Adult Light Formula dry dog food with production codes CLF0102B31XCW and a best buy date of Jan. 27, 2013, and CLF0102B31XCW and CLF0102B32XWR with best buy dates of Jan. 28, 2013.

The recalled dog food was distributed to retailers in Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. The dry dog food may have been redistributed to other states through pet food channels.
