Ethical Naturals' ORAC-15M Now GRAS

SAN ANSELMO, Calif.Ethical Naturals ORAC-15M high ORAC value antioxidant ingredient was self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe) for us in a range of beverage applications; the ingredient was already available for use in dietary supplements. Ethical Naturals uses a patent-pending technology to ensure the highest ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capability) antioxidant value for the natural grape extract, incorporating the skin, seeds and pulp to gain synergistic effects from compounds such as polyphenols, resveratrol and quercetin. ORAC-15M is standardized to contain 80 percent polyphenols and deliver 15,000 ORAC units/gram; it has high water solubility with a very low flavor and color profile, making it easy to incorporate into beverages.

Ethical Naturals also uses its patent-pending technology to produce SFB, another antioxidant ingredient. SFB is a high ORAC value standardized fruit blend containing extracts of grape, apple, bilberry, blueberry, cranberry, chokeberry, goji, mangosteen and pomegranate. The company is expanding its nutraceutical offerings into the food and beverage space; it recently completed GRAS affirmation on its AlphaWave L-theanine, and has several other affirmation projects in the works.
