RONKONKOMA, N.Y.EZVille Ltd. announced two national recalls on Aug. 6, after FDA lab testing found two different dietary supplements distributed by the company were adulterated with undeclared pharmaceuticals. The presence of the undeclared drugs in a product marketed as a dietary supplement makes the products both adulterated and misbranded.

In the first case, EZVilles Revivexxx® Extra Strength, marketed for mens sexual function, was found to contain undeclared tadalafil, an FDA-approved drug for erectile dysfunction. The drug can adversely interact with other nitrates found in some prescription drugs, causing dangerous drops in blood pressure. The company is recalling all lots of Revivexxx Extra Strength with expiration dates including and prior to August 2013; consumers can return the product to place of purchase for a refund.

EZVille also announced a national recall of its Solo Slim® and Solo Slim Extra Strength products, marketed as dietary supplements for weight loss, after FDA lab analysis found the products contained didesmethyl sibutramine, an FDA-approved appetite suppressant. FDA noted sibutramine is know to increase blood pressure in some adults, and may present a serious health risk for users with a history of cardiovascular issues. All lots of the products with expiration dates including and prior to August 2013 are being recalled.

In both instances, consumers and health care providers should report any adverse reactions or quality problems associated with use of the products via FDAs MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting System.
