FDA Files Omega-3 Petition

WASHINGTONThe Food and DrugAdministration (FDA) filed American Longevity and Life Extension Foundationshealth claim petition regarding omega-3 fatty acids and coronary heart disease.FDA filed the petition under its new qualified claims review process; thepetition is open to comments until Nov. 2, 2003. By April 15, 2004, FDA willnotify the petitioners (both represented by Washington-based Emord &Associates) of its final decision.
