FDA Offers FAQs on Food Additive Petitions, Allergens

WASHINGTONThe Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted a guidanceaddressing frequently asked questions (FAQ) concerning food and color additivepetitioning, as well as food allergens, including labeling.

Guidance for Industry: Questions and Answers Regarding Food Allergens,including the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004(Edition 3) is a revision of the second edition of a previous guidancedocument containing FAQ relating to food allergens, including the Food AllergenLabeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). FDA expects to continue to issuesubsequent editions of this guidance document by adding new FAQ, identified bythe date on which they are added to the guidance.
