WASHINGTON The Food and DrugAdministration (FDA), in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney Generals Officein western Pennsylvania, continued its enforcement of the ban affecting ephedrasupplements, authorizing the Jan. 12 seizure of the dietary supplement Lipodrenefrom ATF Fitness Inc. (www.scifitauthentic.com) in Oakmont, Pa. Conducted by U.S. Marshals, the raid involved five unlabeledboxes containing various quantities of 100-tablet Lipodrene bottles labeled witha recommended dose of 50 mg/d ephedrine alkaloids. According to FDA, the totalamount seized was valued at approximately $17,000.
