WASHINGTON—To cap off the January weight loss season, FDA issued yet another consumer warning, this time against the product Venom HYPERDRIVE 3.0, a “dietary supplement” found to contain undeclared sibutramine, a drug for weight loss. The product is marketed by Applied Lifescience Research Industries Inc. (ALR), Oak View, Calif.; ALR initiated a recall in late December after FDA testing of the product showed the presence of sibutramine. Venom HYPERDRIVE 3.0 was sold across the United States and internationally. Consumers can contact ALR via e-mail ([email protected]) for further information on the recall.
