Food Guru John Moore Joins Venable as Of Counsel

WASHINGTON Venable LLP on Wednesday announced that John Moore has joined the law firm as Of Counsel in its Washington, D.C. office.

Moore holds a PhD in chemistry and joins Venable from Hunton & Williams, an international law firm with some 800 lawyers. Before his law career, Moore worked for Baskin Robbins overseeing production for its ice cream line. He also worked for yogurt maker YoFarm as a food technologist.

His current practice focuses on a wide spectrum of federal and state food and drug regulations ranging from packaged foods and food additives to dietary supplements and consumable products of biotechnology.

As a former industry executive with an understanding of food science and manufacturing, John brings a unique perspective to our group. He has a frontline view of the challenges that food manufacturers and dietary supplement companies face in navigating a complex regulatory environment, as well as an in-depth grasp of the scientific issues that underpin regulators decisions," said Todd Harrison, chair of Venables Food and Drug Practice, in a statement.
