Food-safety alert: Carrots recalled over salmonella

WASHINGTON
Bolthouse Farms is recalling 5,600 cases of Bolthouse Farms® 16-ounce Carrot Chips from retailers in the United States and Canada because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced. The recall involves 16-ounce bags sold as Bolthouse Farms Carrot Chips, Safeway Farms Carrot Chips and Farm Stand Carrot Chips. The carrots had use by dates between Nov. 12 and 13.
