Food Safety Alert: Falafel, Meatless Burgers Recalled Over Listeria

WASHINGTONVEGGIE PATCH® announced the recall of two productsThe Ultimate Meatless Burger and Falafelbecause they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

The recall involves 9-ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked VEGGIE PATCH The Ultimate Meatless Burger with use-by dates of Jan. 12, 2013, and UPC code 6-10129-00211-5. The Ultimate Meatless Burgers were sold by retailers in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and  Wisconsin.

The recall also involves 9-ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked VEGGIE PATCH Falafel with use-by dates of Jan. 15, 203, and UPC code 6-10129-06619-3, distributed nationwide.
