Food-Safety Alert: Kellogg's Mini-Wheats Recalled Over Metal Fragments

WASHINGTONKellogg's is recalling select packages of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size because they may contain fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced.

The recall involves Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original cereal packed in 18-, 24- and 30 ounce cartons; 70-ounce club cartons; single-serve bowls; and single-serve cartons with use before dates between April 1 and Sept. 21, 2013. The recall also involves Kellogg's Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size cereal sold in single-serve cartons and 18-ounce cartons with use before dates of April 1 and Sept. 21, 2013.
