Food-Safety Alert: Salsa Recalled Over Glass Fragments

WASHINGTONOlam Tomato Processors, Inc., is recalling three production codes of Chunky Salsa distributed nationwide by Greenbrier International, Inc., because the salsas may contain large glass pieces, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced July 24. The recall was initiated after three consumer reports that glass had been found in the product.

The recall involves Mild Chunky Salsa, UPC code 392775913 and production codes L12142 and L04093 with best buy dates of June 2015 and October 2015, respectively, and Medium Chunky Salsa, UPC code 3927759139 and production code L01313 with best by date of July 2015. The salsas were sold at Dollar Tree and Deals stores, Dollar Express and Dollar Bill$ nationwide.
