FSIS Revises Suitable Ingredients List

WASHINGTONUSDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued an updated list of substances that may be used in the production of meat, poultry and egg products. This new directive replaces the previous list that was issued Feb. 4, 2010.

Directive 7120.1, Revision 2: Safe and Suitable Ingredients Used in the Production of Meat, Poultry and Egg Products added hypobromous acid and oat fiber as suitable ingredients for certain processes.
