WASHINGTON—Like most Americans, the FTC has had enough of Kevin Trudeau infomercials, banning him infomercials for three years and fining him more than $5 million in profits from his book, "The Weight Loss Cure 'They' Don't Want You to Know About." Trudeau, who has a long history of cases logged by FTC, was charged by a federal judge in August 2008 for violating a provision of a 2004 stipulated court order prohibiting Trudeau from misrepresenting the content of books in his infomercials. This confirmed earlier contempt findings against Trudeau in 2007 and 2003.
