FutureCeuticals Inc. (Futureceuticals.com), Momence, Ill., expanded its organic functional food and nutraceutical ingredients line in response to upward industry trends.
U.S. sales of organic food and beverages are expected to reach $23 billion in 2008, according to the Organic Trade Association, making this sector an important area of growth in the food industry.
FutureCeuticals offers organic versions of many of its natural fruit, vegetable and grain powders. Recent additions include items in the Trim line of dispersible grain products and the Vita line of standardized fruit powders.
"Our organic line began more than a decade ago with organic culinary herbs grown on our own organic farmland. After a positive response from customers, we had all of our production facilities certified organic," stated Jeff Van Drunen, president of FutureCeuticals Inc.
The company plans continued expansion of its organic line in the future by offering a wider range of fruits and vegetables with standardized phytochemical actives.
