Genistein Self-Affirmed GRAS

PARSIPPANY, N.J.DSM Nutritional Products Inc. announced its soy-free genistein ingredient, geniVida®, is self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe) for use in food and beverage applications intended for older adults. According to the company, research substantiates the use of geniVida genistein to reduce symptoms such as hot flashes in menopausal and post-menopausal women; studies also suggest genistein plays a role in bone health, supporting bone mineral density. In men, genistein enhances bone health and offers prostate health benefits.

geniVida is manufactured using a patented process, has a comprehensive safety package, is allergen-free and non-GMO. geniVida works in multiple food applications and can be used in menopausal and post menopausal formulations for hot flash relief and bone health. While mature women are the primary target audience, geniVida is also beneficial for bone and prostate health applications for mature men.
