Goya Foods Recalls Mamey Pulp Over Salmonella

WASHINGTONGoya Foods Inc., based in Secaucus, N.J., is recalling 14-ounce packages of Frozen Mamey pulp because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Aug. 12.
The recall involves Goya brand Mamey pulp distributed to retailers in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Washington. The products carry the UPC 041331090803 and do not have an expiration date or lot number.
The recall was initiated after a sample tested positive for Salmonella during routine testing in Las Vegas.
