Health Canada Finalizes CLA Monograph

OTTAWAHealth Canadas Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) finalized a monograph for conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which will serve as a guide for submission of product license applications (PLAs) for natural health products containing CLA, which will be able to be marketed with information about CLAs benefits in weight management. CLA has been shown in clinical studies to reduce body fat, improve body composition and increase lean muscle mass. The monograph is designed to be used as a labeling guideline.
