WASHINGTON, N.J.Herbalist & Alchemist was accepted as a certified B Corporation, after B Lab confirmed the companys compliance with comprehensive and transparent social and environmental performance standards. The performance standards, incorporating social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, are comprehensive and transparent. They measure a companys impact on its employees, suppliers, community, and the environmental. Unlike traditional corporations, Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their employees, suppliers, community, consumers, and environment.

We became a B Corporation because for almost 30 years we have been running our company on similar principles to the B Corporation standards, making products that are good for people in a way that is good for the earth," said Beth Lambert, Herbalist & Alchemists CEO. We became a B Corporation to join with a group of like-minded businesses who share these principles and focus collective energy on truly changing the way we live."

B Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to driving systemic change by building a community of like-minded companies, helping institutional investors find positive opportunities with such companies, and promoting supportive public policies, including creation of a new corporate form and tax, procurement and investment incentives for sustainable business. There are currently 300 certified B Corporations from more than 50 industries.

Herbalist & Alchemist develops, manufactures and distributes quality herbal supplements, made using organically grown, ethically wildcrafted or sustainable harvested materials. The company submitted substantial documentation about its business practices to B Lab in order to become certified.
