SALT LAKE CITY—Honeyville will display its TempSURE system, which uses a natural dry-heat process to reduce or eliminate pathogens from dry ingredients, at SupplySide in October.
TempSURE is able to reduce or eliminate the amount of yeast, mold and microbes in all flours, vegetables and fruit powders, as well as other dry ingredients. Special heat probes monitor the temperature to assure 5-log pathogen reduction, or 99.99 percent.
Another unique property of TempSURE involves how ingredients remain in the original packaging to prevent contamination through the heat treatment process; by keeping ingredients in their original packaging, no foreign allergens are introduced. Also, no chemical fumigants are used during the heat treatment.
HoneyVille guarantees the 5-log pathogen reduction and safe ingredients by taking random samples throughout the process, which are sent to a third-party lab to insure a 5-log reduction has been achieved.
