Hostess Recalls Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins

WASHINGTONHostess Brands Inc., an Irving, Texas, firm, is recalling Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins multi-packs sold in retail stores nationwide because they may contain the undeclared allergen, walnuts, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Sept. 30.

The recall involves Hostess® Mini Muffins (Chocolate Chip variety) 4-packs of five muffins each with the UPC 45000-60703 and best by Oct. 31."

Hostess initiated the recall after it was discovered that operator error during production caused some Banana Nut Mini Muffins to be inadvertently inserted into the Chocolate Chip Mini Muffin packaging.
