Indian Harvest Offers Whole Grain Puffed Rice Varieties

BEMIDJI, Minn.Indian Harvest now offers its new Puffed Brown Rice, Puffed Colusari® Red Rice and Puffed Wild Rice that deliver pure, puffed whole grains for snacks, cereals, baked goods and more.

The company's proprietary puffing process allows each grain kernel to retain its beneficial minerals, fiber, antioxidants and protein. When added to products, the puffed rice varieties add a mild, toasted crunch to foods which contributes to a pleasing mouthfeel. For applications that benefit from quick cooking, the cooked puffed red which is medium grain, brown which is also medium grain and wild which is all grades, rice varieties are formulated to rehydrate easily.

Additionally, all of the puffed rice varieties recently earned Food Safety Certification for blending and packaging from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) earning an A grade. Other rice varieties, including other whole grains, are currently in development to join the company's line of puffed grains.
