Jasper Products Recalls Dairy-Contaminated Soymilk

JOPLIN, Mo.--Jasper Products recalled 5,069 cases of soymilk,which were packaged under several brand names, due to possible contaminationwith dairy protein. The company received a report of one allergic reaction as ofDec. 12. After learning of the incident, the company conducted a follow-upinvestigation, which uncovered the possibility of contamination. The companyreported the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in its productionprocess.

The company recalled cases of 32-ounce cartons of soymilk packaged under theStop & Shop, Western Family, Safeway Select and Full Circle brand names. Thesoymilk was distributed directly to warehouses in Washington, Oregon, Utah,Missouri, New York and Minnesota for further distribution to retail grocerystores nationwide. The following is a list of brands and lot codes of theaffected products: Stop & Shop Original Soymilk (2280P1F1A), Stop & ShopVanilla Soymilk (2280P1F1A), Western Family Vanilla Soymilk (2280P1F1A), SafewaySelect Vanilla Soymilk (2280P1F1A and 2280P1F2A), Full Circle Original Soymilk(2280P1F1A), and Full Circle Vanilla Soymilk (2280P1F2A).
