Karl Rove Talks Politics at CRN Conference

WASHINGTONKarl Rove, political pundit and former White House Senior Advisor, will provide his thoughts on the current political climate as a featured speaker at The Conference, the Council for Responsible Nutrition's (CRN) annual symposium for the dietary supplement industry. Speaking on the final day of The Conference, Rove will share his insight into the inner workings of Congress, the White House and the political process in Washington, and how these factors affect the business community.

He will also share some personal recollections from his nearly eight years as a close advisor to President George W. Bush and from his extensive career in American politics. The Conference takes place Oct. 19 to 22 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

Rove served as Senior Advisor to President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2007 and Deputy Chief of Staff from 2004 to 2007.  At the White House, he oversaw the Offices of Strategic Initiatives, Political Affairs, Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs and was Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, coordinating the White House policy-making process. Prior to serving in the White House, Rove was a Republican political strategist, helping the campaigns of more than 75 U.S. Senate, Congressional and gubernatorial candidates in 24 states. In 2000, Rove served as The Architect" of Bushs successful campaign for the presidency and was personally acknowledged by the President in his 2004 re-election acceptance speech.

Currently, Rove serves as a Fox News Contributor, a Wall Street Journal columnist and recently released the New York Times bestseller Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight." He has also written for other publications including The Daily Beast, Financial Times, Forbes, FoxNews.com, HumanEvents.com, Newsweek, The Times, Washington Post and The Weekly Standard.

In addition to Rove, The Conference agenda will feature industry leaders, economic and market research experts, scientists and political experts, with additional speakers to be announced over the next month. Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., director, Division of Dietary Supplement Programs, FDA, is providing the Keynote Address on the Conferences opening day.

The Conference and The Workshop: CRNs Annual Day of Science (which takes place immediately prior to The Conference) are open to CRN members and non-members.
