The BBC show Kill It, Cook It, Eat It," which poses graphic details about how meat and poultry are processed for mass consumption, premieres in the United States tonight.

The show promises to "tackle tough issues in a tasteful manner" by placing six volunteers with different food views on an organic farm in the United Kingdom where they help care for, slaughter, butcher, prepare and finally eat the animals.

As reported by Meatingplace, the premiere episode, Burgers," follows the volunteers as they arrive at the farm and begin to take care of Red Ruby cattle. They ultimately select two for slaughter, bring them to the abattoir where they participate in the butchering. They then head to the kitchen to cook up their meals.

A total of 21 one-hour episodes will air on Tuesday evenings, covering meals such as lamb kebabs, chicken nuggets, pork sausages, offal and game.
