Kroger Recalls Frozen Shrimp Linguini Meals

WASHINGTONLos Angeles-based Contessa Premium Foods Inc. and Kroger issued a nationwide recall of 24-ounce bags of Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini" because they may contain an undeclared milk product, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Aug. 16. One adverse reaction has been reported to date.

The recalled products were distributed to all divisions of Krogers retail stores and carry the UPC 1111097756 on the bags. Contessa Premium Foods issued the recall after it discovered the Kroger brand Meals Made Simple Shrimp Linguini included an ingredient labeled as "Natural Flavors" that may have been constituted using milk or milk byproducts. The ingredient was included in the product at very small amounts but was not otherwise indicated on the allergen warning statement.
