Listeria Prompts Recall of Smoked Salmon Products

WASHINGTONSalmolux, headquartered in Federal Way, Wash., is recalling frozen and fresh cold smoked salmon products sold at retail stores in 11 states because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced May 25.

The recall involves 4-ounce packages of frozen Jensens Old Fashion Smokehouse Sockeye Nova Lox; 500 g frozen Cold Smoked Sockeye Salmon Trays sold to foodservice institutions without a brand name;  4-ounce packages of Raleys fresh Atlantic Lox;  1-pound packages of frozen Sea Passion Keta Lox; 2-pound packages of frozen Sea Passion Keta Lox Trim; 2-pound packages of frozen Sea Passion Salmon Lox Trim; 2-pound packages of frozen Sea Passion Sockeye Lox Trim; 3-ounce packages of frozen Sea Passion Keta Retail Box; 3-pound frozen Sea Passion Atlantic Salmon Trays; 4-ounces frozen Sea Passion Wild Keta Lox; and 8-ounce frozen packages of Sea Passion Salmon Lox Norwegian Style.

The recalled products were distributed to retailers in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Idaho, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon and Washington.
