More Herbs Recalled Over Salmonella Scare

WASHINGTONBoncheff Greenhouses Inc., based in Toronto, is recalling cilantro, curly parsley and Italian parsley distributed to retailers in New York and Pennsylvania because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Jan. 6.
The recall, related to a voluntary recall from J & D Produce Edinburg, Texas, which packs under the Little Bear Brand Cilantro, Curly Parsley, and Italian Plain Parsley labels, involves herbs sold between Dec. 14 and Dec. 28, 2010. The products were purchased and shipped Dec. 6, 2010, to Boncheff Greenhouses where it was repacked and distributed.
The recall involves herbs sold under the Wegmans and Boncheff brands to Wegmans Food Markets, Budweys, Wades Market, Cuba Giant Food Market and Hegedorns Inc.
