Nestlé to Acquire Pfizers Infant Nutrition Unit for $11.9 Billion

VEVEY, SwitzerlandNestlé S.A. finalized a deal to acquire Pfizer's infant nutrition business for $11.85 billion, a move that will bolster Nestlés position in global infant nutrition, especially in emerging markets with fast-growing populations. The acquisition, subject to regulatory approval, is estimated to add $2.4 billion in 2012 sales.

Pfizer Nutrition complements Nestlés existing portfolio with strong brands in key segments and geographies. It will enhance the companys infant nutrition business, building on growth-focused strategy, global presence and pioneering research and development. Nestlé will be able to combine well-known brands like S-26 Gold, SMA and Promil with our existing portfolio of trusted and successful brands such as Nan, Gerber, Lactogen, Nestogen and Cerelac infant cereal.
