WASHINGTONNew Chapter, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of dietary supplements that may contain soy, an undeclared allergen, FDA announced Wednesday.

A limited number of packages of 90 count Probiotic Elderberry are being withdrawn from the market. The product can be returned for a refund and is packaged in an amber glass jar with an outer cardboard carton marked with the following: Probiotic Elderberry; Lot #01230049332; Expiration date 01/31/15; UPC 7-27783-00123-8.

FDA stated there have been no reported illnesses in connection with the product lot. The agency cautioned soy can cause a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" in certain people.

New Chapter is issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) in an effort to notify consumers who may be impacted by the recall.

The voluntary recall doesn't affect any other New Chapter products, FDA said.
