The Food and Drug Administration’s Commissioner Margaret Hamburg announced last week her plans to resign after leading the agency for roughly six years. Hamburg’s resignation announcement came only days after other key regulatory leadership changes took place, including Cara Welch to temporarily oversee its dietary supplement division and Susan Mayne as the new director for FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN).
