NSF-GFTC Announces Food Safety Awards
The NSF-GFTC Food Safety Recognition Awards were presented during the Safe Food Canada 2014 Symposium to honor Canadian food and beverage companies and individuals helping to advance food safety.

GUELPH, OntarioThe NSF-GFTC Food Safety Recognition Awards were presented during the Safe Food Canada 2014 Symposium to honor Canadian food and beverage companies and individuals helping to advance food safety.
Safe Food Canada 2014 was hosted by NSF-GFTC (formerly GFTC, the Guelph Food Technology Centre), part of NSF Internationals Global Food Division. Awards included the Food Safety Leadership Award, the Food Safety Excellence Award and the Allied Trades Food Safety Award.
The following received NSF-GFTC awards:
Food Safety Leadership Award: Randy Huffman, chief food safety officer and senior vice president, Six Sigma and Quality, Maple Leaf Foods Inc.
Food Safety Excellence Award: Onland Brewery, Nova Scotia (winner); Tim Hortons Ltd., Ontario (finalist)
Allied Trades Food Safety Award: Sealed Air, Ontario (winner); TrainCan Inc., Ontario (finalist)
There are many food safety success stories in Canada, and we wanted to develop a mechanism to share and celebrate those successes," said Frank Schreurs, global managing director, NSF-GFTC Consulting and Technical Services.
