ANN ARBOR, Mich.NSF International, a public health and safety organization that writes standards and certifies products for food, water and consumer goods, announced a new strategic partnership with MET Laboratories, the first Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the United States.
Partnering with MET Laboratories, involved in electrical product safety, will expand the scope of NSF Internationals electrical testing and certification services. Industry sectors, including commercial food equipment, mechanical plumbing devices and biosafety cabinets will benefit from this partnership.
The partnership between NSF International and MET Laboratories expands NSF Internationals electrical testing services to companies seeking certification from a NTRL, said Nancy Culotta, vice president of food safety and product certification for NSF International. Together, we will provide certification services that cover electrical, sanitation and health effects requirements for products such as food equipment.
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) recognizes both NSF International and METs Laboratories as NRTL. OSHA accreditation enables both companies to provide electrical safety certification to all electrical standards, including foodservice-related UL standards.
