NuCal Foods Issues Shell Egg Recall

WASHINGTONNuCal Foods, based in Ripon, Calif., is recalling specific Julian dates of shell eggs produced by Wright County Egg and packaged by NuCal Foods because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Aug. 17.

The recall is in response to Iowa-based Wright County Eggs Aug. 13 recall of shell eggs that tested positive for Salmonella enteritidis and were distributed to national food wholesalers, distribution centers and foodservice companies in eight states.

The NuCal Foods recall involves Bayview, Mountain Dairy, Nulaid and Sun Valley brand eggs distributed to food wholesalers and retailers in California and Nevada.
