ODS, NCCAM Looking for Researchers to StudyChromium and Diabetes

BETHESDA, Md.--The Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS), the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine(NCCAM) and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases(NIDDK) are inviting basic and clinical applications to study the effects of chromium as an adjunctive therapy for individuals suffering from Type II diabetes and/or impaired glucose tolerance. Developmental studies are needed to look at the role chromium and can cover a variety of topics that include chromiumbioavailability, biomarkers of chromium toxicity and chromium presence in tissue, blood and urine.
