Morristown, N.J.OmniActive Health Technologies expanded its international operations by opening an advanced research and development (R&D) center at the Biocommons Research Park in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. This facility joins the growing operations of OmniActive Health Technologies, which include its headquarters; R&D and manufacturing and processing plants in India; its U.S. subsidiary in Morristown, N.J.; and distributors in various parts of Europe, Asia and South America.
Prince Edward Island was chosen for its competitive business costs for investor companies, a positive tax environment and labor rebates. Prince Edward Island also has a skilled and educated labor pool, and convenient access to major markets for businesses.
Prince Edward Island provides a supportive business environment with an excellent base for innovative and collaborative research; therefore, it was a good fit for our first overseas R&D center, with close proximity to North America and European markets," said Sanjaya Mariwala, managing director of OmniActive Health Technologies. We are confident this partnership will help us achieve our broader corporate objective of delivering innovative products based on solid scientific research to our customers."
Prince Edward Island offers the ability to think big and act fast through the opportunities we can offer in assisting businesses to grow and prosper," said Robert Ghiz, the Premier of Prince Edward Island. "The relationship with OmniActive is evidence to this, how we are working to promote investments in our innovative thinking, our people and our infrastructure."
