Organic Spirulina Debuts Milder Taste

LAS VEGASValensa International's Parry Organic Spirulina ingredients received a no objection letter from FDA for Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status up to 3 g per serving. Valensa said this is the first organic spirulina to obtain GRAS status.

The company also announced it completed a two-year program to create a milder taste for the superfood ingredient. Valensa hopes the new taste profile will broaden consumer appeal as it is incorporated into a range of functional foods and beverages.
