Pharmline Purchases Irradiation ID System

FLORIDA,N.Y.Pharmline Inc. purchased the Scottish Universities Research andReactor Centre (SURRC) pulsed photo stimulated luminescence system (PSL) foridentifying ingredients treated with gamma irradiation. According to Pharmline,the company has received numerous customer requests to identify whetherbotanicals have been irradiated. Personnel from Pharmlines quality control(QC) department were trained in Scotland on the equipment. After an extensivein-house study to validate the accuracy of the equipment and analyticalmethodology, the PSL equipment was integrated into Pharmlines QC departmentin early March.
