Prepackaged Sliced Apples Recalled in Florida

WASHINGTONMarjon Specialty Foods, Inc., Plant City, Fla., has recalled 119 cases of sliced apples that were sold to foodservice distributors in Florida. The recall was initiated as the result of a positive test result for Listeria monocytogenes during the company's routine sampling program, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.
These apples were produced by Marjon Specialty Foods Inc., and packaged in 2-ounce single-serve packages that were distributed to institutional and foodservice establishments under the brand names of Simply Fresh Fruit and Miller's Ale House.
