NAPLES, Fla. Pyure Brands launched its commercial-grade erythritol as a healthy alternative to sugar, high-fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners.

Pyure Brands is a privately-owned healthy sweetener company and the first to market organic and non-GMO verified stevia sweeteners. Erythritol is USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified.

"Consumers are demanding lower sugar and improved ingredient transparency, which Pyure Brands provides through their organic and non-GMO stevia and erythritol, " said Eric Schnell, CEO of MetaBrand."We have seen exceptional results in reformulating our I AM enlightened creations line with these top quality ingredients."

Pyure invested in extensive DNA testing during all phases of production to ensure that the product would meet regulatory standards. The results of the testing were shared with the Non-GMO Project and lead to a grant for the "Verified" designation. In the United States, an estimated 80 percent of consumed food contains GMOs.

Potential commercial applications for erythritol are vast since the sugar, in terms of bulk, can effectively replicate the familiar mouthfeel of foods and drinks that are sweetened with sugar. Erythritol, in conjunction with stevia, works well by acting as a bulking agent for the higher intensity sweetener.

"Pyure Brands' certified organic and Non-GMO Verified erythritol is a game changer for food and beverage manufacturers who are looking to reduce calories and sugar content," said Tim Avila, general manager of Zero Worries Food and formulator of ZSweet."It also expands the possibilities for marketing products to the large contingent dealing with metabolic syndrome concerns."

Pyure Brands will publicly unveil its new organic and Non-GMO erythritol at Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore on September 26 to 28.
