Ready Pac Spinach Salad Recalled over E. coli

WASHINGTONReady Pac Foods Inc., Irwindale, Calif., is recalling 702 cases of the baby spinach variety of Spinach Temptations bagged salad because they may be contaminated with Escherichia coli 0157:H7, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced. The recall was initiated after Ready Pac received a confirmed positive result for E. coli 0157:H7 in a random sample test conducted by the FDA.

The recall involves Spinach Temptations 6-ounce bagged salads with use by dates of July 4, 2010, and July 8, 2010, sold at retail stores in Arizona, California and Washington.
