ST. FRANCIS, Wis.Wixon developed a meat flavor modifier for rubs, marinades, seasonings and injection systems called Wix-Fresh. Wix-Fresh is a reduced-sodium system that positively impacts flavor without compromising functionality while reducing sodium up to 75%. Wix-Fresh extends the shelf life of fresh, frozen, pre-cooked and further processed meats. It works to stabilize the breading system in deep-fried applications by reducing the rancidity associated with frying oil and masks off-notes in meat applications including soy. It is available in liquid and dry form and is certified organic.
