Resers Recalls RTE Products Over Listeria Concerns

WASHINGTONResers Fine Foods, a Topeka, Kan., firm, is recalling approximately 109,000 cases of refrigerated ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken, ham and beef salad products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, USDAs Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Oct. 22. The affected products are being recalled in conjunction with other foods regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall involves refrigerated RTE products including, but not limited to, pasta salad, cole slaw, parfaits, potato salad, chicken salad, ham salad, tuna salad and barbecue beef and beans.

The products were distributed to retailers, including Safeway, Walmart and Sams Club, and foodservice distributors in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. The products also were distributed in Canada.
