RTE Salads, Wraps Recalled Over E. coli

WASHINGTONAthertone Foods, Inc., based in Richmond, Calif., is recalling A is voluntary recalling ready-to-eat salads and wraps because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 bacteria, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

The recall involves various size salads and wraps with best buy" dates 9-23-13 through 11-14-13. The products were distributed in Northern California to retailers, including Trader Joes, Walgreens and Whole Foods Market.

The affected products include Walgreens Delish Greek Style Orzo Salad (6-ounce clamshell), Delish Asian Style Noodle Salad (6 ounces) and Delish Vegetarian Wrap (11.3-ounce cellophane); Trader Joes Classic Greek Salad (9-ounce clamshell); and Whole Foods Market Southwestern Salad Kit (20-pound box); and Wheat Berry Salad Kit (20-pound box).
