WASHINGTONThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has named Tiny Greens Organic Farm of Urbana, Ill., as the possible source of a Salmonella outbreak that sickened nearly 90 people in 15 states. Approximately half of the illnesses occurred in Illinois, where nearly all of the ill individuals ate sandwiches containing sprouts at various Jimmy Johns restaurants.

FDA is advising the public not to eat alfalfa sprouts or spicy sprouts (alfalfa sprouts mixed with radish and clover sprouts) from Tiny Greens Organic Farm because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.  The sprouts were distributed in 4-ounce and 5-pound containers to farmers markets, restaurants and groceries in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and possibly other Midwestern states.
