Salmonella Prompts Cucumber Recall in 9 States

WASHINGTONL&M Companies Inc., a Raleigh, N.C., firm is recalling 1,590 cartons of whole cucumbers in nine states because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced April 22.

The recalled involves cucumbers distributed to wholesalers in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, Tennessee, Texas and Wyoming between March 20 and April 7, 2011.
