Salmonella Prompts Organic Spinach Recall in 19 States

WASHINGTONTaylor Farms Retail, Inc., is recalling Private Selections and Marketside brands of organic baby spinach in 19 states because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced May 22.

The recall involves 5-ounce clamshell packages of Private Selections Organic-Baby Spinach and 10-ounce clamshell packages of Marketside Baby Spinach-Organic with best buy dates of May 21, 2012.

The affected products were distributed from Taylor Farms Retail on May 9, 2012, and May 10, 2012 to retailers in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
