Sargento Foods, Saputo Cheese Honored By IDFA

WASHINGTONThe International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) awarded Saputo Cheese USA, Inc., one of five winners of the 2nd annual Innovations Awards at the International Dairy Show in Chicago, Nov. 3-6. Sargento Foods, Inc., was also chosen for the Attendee Choice Award.
A total of five winners were chosen for the Innovations Awards in select categoriesfood safety, ingredients/flavorings/seasonings/additives, packaging, processing and sustainability. In addition, one company was selected as winner of the Attendee Choice Award.
Saputo earned the ingredients/flavorings/seasonings/additives Innovation Award for its Treasure Cave Crumbled Blue Cheese FlavorsBuffalo Wing, Southeast Smoked, Chipotle Pepper and Southwest Chipotle & Black Bean.
Sargento received the Attendee Choice Award for its Ultra Thin Sliced Natural Cheeses, which have 45 calories or fewer per slice. The slices are cut from Sargentos same sliced natural cheese, but contain half the calories of traditionally sliced cheeses.
Other winners include: ExtenData, which received the Food Safety Innovation Award for its MobileConductor; Curwood, Inc., received the Packaging Innovation Award for its EZ Peel® Reseal technology; Junction Solutions earned the Processing Innovation Award for its Blend Optimizer; and Quest Industrial LLC received the Innovative Sustainability Award for the Quest Pro Pick Pack.
"Exhibitors place a great deal of emphasis on innovation when they exhibit at the International Dairy Show, and these awards provide another targeted opportunity for exhibitors to bring their products and services to the attention of the dairy industry," said Robin Cornelison, trade show director, IDFA.
