PLOUFRAGAN, FranceSatiereal®, an extract of saffron from P.L. Thomas, reduces snacking and enhances the experience of satiety through its suggested mood-enhancing effect, according to a recent study published in Nutrition Research (Nutr Res. 2010 May;30(5):305-13.). The ingredient is marketed as Re-Body Hunger Chews and Re-Body Hunger Caps, part of the Re-Body Total Transformation System popularized nationally by spokesperson Montel Williams.

The randomized, placebo-controlled, double blind study of 60 mildly overweight young women evaluated body weight changes during an eight-week period. While caloric intake was left unrestricted during the study, participants consumed one capsule of Satiereal twice a day. Satiereal improved weight management by causing a significantly greater body weight reduction than placebo after eight weeks, and snacking frequency also was significantly decreased.  For more information on ingredients that improve weight management see INISIDER's "Ingredients for Improved Weight Management."

Re-Body Hunger Chews and Hunger Caps are companion products to SafSlimfor reducing belly fat.

You take two chews a day, preferably before your two main meals of the day or at times during the day that you typically feel like snacking," said Heather Hausenblas, Ph.D., of the University of Florida College of Health and Human Performance. And your tendency to overeat or snack goes way down. In the study, snacking actually decreased by 55 percent in the Satiereal group as compared to 28 percent in the placebo group."
